Meet me in Hawaii by Georgia Toffolo
Where an ocean of love awaits
Malie Pukui doesn’t believe in happy ever after. After a tragedy caused her to flee her family and friends in Devon she found a fresh start in Hawaii. Here, working at a surf school, she can give back to those in need and try to overcome the greatest loss in her life.
Moved around foster homes throughout his childhood, Todd Masters has worked hard to be able to offer a brighter future to young disadvantaged children. Now he has his own charitable foundation working with a surf school in Hawaii, a job he loves, but he still can’t put his past behind him.
When Malie rescues Todd from the sea a spark ignites between them, and the two wounded souls find a common ground. But amidst the surf, sunsets and sizzling kisses, can Malie let go of her past and risk something she’d locked away forever… her heart?
Review by Kelly Lacey
I loved the first book in the series Meet Me in London and I was eager to see which friend we would be meeting in book two. I was delighted it was Malie and it was lovely to spend time with her and get to know a little about her fictitious life. What I love about the plots of these books is that they are so much more than just your run of the mill romance books. They have side plots that are really important. In the case of Meet me in Hawaii, we meet a group of kids that have had a tough time in life and a charity has brought them to Hawaii to get away and perhaps bring them out of their selves. Malie is perfect and patient as their surfer teacher. Having been through tragedy in her own life she can relate to them in a way many others would not be able to.
Then there is the romance element of the book, I love that it is relatable and honest. The characters are well written and likeable. It is definitely a fast page turner and I absolutely love that characters from the first book appear in Meet me in Hawaii too.
You also get a small insight into what might be coming up in book three as we learn a lot more about some of the girls. This series is definitely for the readers like myself who do enjoy a little romance in their books but that also need more depth too.
So I encourage you to take a trip to Hawaii and fall in love with Malie and Todd.
A beautiful page turner with ohana at its core.
