Sometimes your first love won’t let you go…
When Lou Wandsworth ran away to France with her teacher Mike Hughes, she thought he was the love of her life. But Mike wasn’t what he seemed and he left her life in pieces.
Now 32, Lou discovers that he is involved with teenager Chloe Meadows. Determined to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself, she returns home to confront him for the damage he’s caused.
But Mike is a predator of the worst kind, and as Lou tries to bring him to justice, it’s clear that she could once again become his prey…

We have all seen the headlines on the news and in the daily paper, a young teenage girl runs away with an older teacher. We all make assumptions, I have done it myself. Cally Taylor decided to dive deeper into the why’s and the what if’s of the situation and we are lucky that The Fear came to fruition.
I really felt a lot of compassion towards Lou Wandsworth, the main protagonist of the story. To be haunted on a daily basis by your past is terrifying. To compare things every day and look over your shoulder. It’s just horrid and C.L Taylor injects the fear very cleverly throughout our journey with Lou and the other characters.
The fast-paced storyline has you on so many twists and turns, it’s utterly engaging. This book has the edge on anything I have read recently. Just when you think you have it all figured out the story shifts in a different direction.
C.L Taylor is now firmly on my favourites list, superb writing and plots that have you awake all night.

The blurb from Karin Slaughter made me more eager to pick this up. I just read one of her books and it was awesome and if she liked this then I will pick it up. Awesome review by the way! ❤
