Million Dollar Quartet
24th October 2017
The Edinburgh Playhouse

FIVE-STARS

A triumphant performance from the cast of Million Dollar Quartet last night at The Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre. With a simplistic set, the cast bring hit after hit to life, live on the stage.

The show is the recreation of a special night in Memphis, Tennessee on December 4th, 1956. When  Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins had the most memorable jam session at Sun Records.  All the music in the show is performed and played live.  The talented actors Martin Kaye, Robbie Durham, Matthew Wycliffe and Rhys Whitfield take on these iconic roles with ease.

Martin Kemp takes the role of Sam Philips and narrates the story of that very night. His presence in the show certainly drew a lot of fans. Mr Kemp gave an authentic and impressive performance.

Stand out performance was very hard to pick as all the cast were extremely talented. Martin Kaye was, however, our pick, he plays a comedic performance as Jerry Lee Lewis and steals the show with his dynamic and energetic performance.

Million Dollar Quartet has the feel-good factor from start to finish. With an array of 20 top hits performed. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
