The Book

Loki Redmond is positive her grandfather’s 100-acre farm in Mississippi will be the perfect place for Jake Savior to heal after the murder of his wife and his banishment from law enforcement before they begin their partnership in Redmond Private Investigations.
But fate has other plans.
The discovery of a month old baby and a young girl with no memory of her name, running from a man she calls The Devil, plunges them into danger. Loki’s Native American connection to the spirits makes her a target for the delusions of a madman who is determined to kill her.
Tension continues to rise when a special unit of the FBI enters the case, and Jake is forced to decide what he believes in. Can he change the future seen by Special Agent Brian Wilkes, or is Loki destined to die?

About Linda S Prather

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author living in Lexington, Kentucky. I have always had a penchant for things a little outside the norm. I saw my first “ghost” when I was five years old, and I’ve spent a lifetime trying to understand that vision. Was it real? And if it was, why? I became a paranormal investigator and love old houses that go bump in the night. I can often be found in old cemeteries just hanging out.
I’ve studied metaphysics, including the areas of touch healing, dream analysis, meditation and hypnosis. The power of the mind has always fascinated me. When reading I love books that allow me to travel around the world without ever leaving home. As an author my greatest desire is to create characters that readers can love and hate, laugh and cry with, and stories that allow the reader to spend a few hours in sheer entertainment.
The Jacody Ives series was my first attempt to combine my love of true mystery and the paranormal. The Catherine Mans’ series continues and expands that combination, delving into the darker side of the power of the mind.
I finished my first romantic suspense in 2015, and having been a member of the judicial system for the past 19 years, wrote my first two legal thrillers in 2016. Also in 2016, I joined long-time friend and fellow NYT bestselling author, M. A. Comley in a joint series titled the Deception series. We released our first novella and two full-length novels in 2016 and are currently working on the third novel.
My #Fab Five with Linda S Prather
What’s your favourite book cover by another author and why?
The Watcher by Netta Newbound would be my current favourite. It simply screams suspense to me.
What is your favourite time to read?
Anytime I can get a moment when it’s truly quiet, but usually after 9 p.m. when the grandson is asleep.
Do you have a favourite snack to nibble whilst reading?
Popcorn.
Who is your favourite book character that has stayed with you long after the book ended?
Old Yeller. This wonderfully brave, funny dog has stayed with me since I was six years old. I love hero animals in books.
What is your favourite book quote?
“Frankly, My Dear, I don’t give a damn.” Gone with the Wind
